Quasim - King Inferno by Jaqhuel J.

Prepare yourself, I’m not going to talk about the things that everyone else has already discussed 1000s of times.

Tookie is a bitch…

Yes we’re starting with that. It had to be said. So there.

You’re sitting in prison reminiscing on how you used to beat Blair’s ass. Then you say you’re going to get her back when you get out or she’s going to die. Sim gone set his ass a blaze🚶🏾‍♀️.

I didn’t think for one second that Thea was going to send Elijah to Mexico to live with his uncle. I think she was either going to kill him or sell him 🤷🏾‍♀️. She didn’t fight Sim on it because she knew that she wouldn’t win. You can tell that Elijah was born as her escape from something or her savior from something. Then as he grew, she realized her plan didn’t go as she expected. At least that’s always my first thought when people abuse children. What’s yours? Let me know in the comments.

Why he talked about the cat like that when Blair said he was a cat dad? Mannnn I hollered laughing once again 🤣. The funny moments in this book was funny in real life 🤣I found myself laughing right along with them each time.

This book showed me how it is true that people can be born in 2 different emotional environments but still be emotionally the same in many ways. The Delgatos and Infernos are the same men emotionally, but they show it slightly differently but the same at the same time. As we know all 5 of them will blow the world up about their women. They all approach their women the same. They even handle the outside world the same, kill them all if you have to. But expressing their actual emotions is different. Quasim freezes up or shuts down. Meer says what he needs to say playfully. We don’t really know Core like that for real so I can’t say with certainty, but he seems to be pretty open to discussing how he feels and letting you do with it as you will. The twins Capone and Cappadonna don’t mind showing their emotions to the people they love and to outsiders they don’t blatantly show it but the signs are there.

Finding out how hard Papa Inferno, Des, Mina, and Jen really hung tight and rode together until Des got jammed up was not shocking but it felt good to read. It also made the storyline even better. Both of these immigrant families found each other and stuck it out. Now their children are doing the same without being forced to do so. I do wonder how the 2 families ended up coming together again. Like how the children came together. Growing up the twins and Inferno brothers were living separate lives so how did they end up together so tight. I remember how Cappa became a God once he got out but at what point did he reconnect with Quasim.

No lie I thought Jahquel was going to drag out the Blair vs Sim chase down but I like how she did it. Like she says, just sit back and let it unfold. I’m glad I did.

The running joke is that Blair chased Sim but I don’t feel like Blair chased Sim. I guess knowing what he was dealing with in his personal life caused that. I feel like she saw a man hurting, that she liked physically, and did what she had to do to build a relationship with him. I’m happy that they both opened up and allowed each other to love. They are both gentle souls at heart.  So, them together is cute.

The way Blair was able to just fall in line with loving Elijah was cute as well. I’m interested in knowing what happened to him because it can’t only be that Thea is abusive and him saying she’s not his mother is like well what the hell. Who is she then? She gave him up so easily I kind of believe that she isn’t. I don’t know though I mean it could just be a trauma response. Idk, what do you think?

Redd is going to do something stupid and end up dead. I don’t think that mutual ground shit is going to last long. Jealousy between siblings can be so real. Whether they grew up together or not, jealousy knocks hard at the door. But I feel like it all comes back to the parents, the parents’ relationship, and the foundation of the relationship that the siblings form. Papa or King are going to have to off Redd it’s inevitable.

It was the end of the book, I knew something was going to happen to someone, but I didn’t think molotov cocktails would be the thing. I just knew it was going to be Tookie Butt outside throwing the cocktails. But after Blair gave the description I think it’s Thea. I think she’s high as a kite or she could be sober and wants to get rid of Elijah. Sim and the house are just casualties in her head because she knows Sim will protect Eli.

All I know is Blair better be ok…
